|Stafford & District Snooker League -|
The 2018 Annual General Meeting of the Stafford & District Billiards and Snooker League will be held on Monday, 16th July 2018 at the Constitutional Club Stafford. The meeting will commence at 19.30pm.
An important agenda item concerns the need for more players to put themselves forward to join the committee.
In particular, there is a need to fill the roles of Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer and Match Secretary as the current officials are looking to vacate their positions.
Based on the previous five years the committee strongly believe that the only way the league will continue is for every club to have representation on the committee and be actively and positively involved in the running of the league.
The committee also asks that all league trophies are returned at the AGM.
Can you please make sure all your members are informed of the above please?

Stafford A progress to the Quarter Finals of the Inter-Town competition with an impressive display against Telford B.
With a few late apologies in both teams, this match was going to be a real close encounter. In frame one Mark Bishop (Institute A) looked to be edging away from Keith Price after an early run of 36, until a cruel in-off followed by a good snooker from Keith completely turned the momentum in Telford's favour, with Keith finally winning on the pink. On the opposite table, Mick Fox (Perkins A) was squaring things up for Stafford with an impressive display against Ade Henry, Mick getting a reputation now in Town matches for "doing the business". Finely poised at 1-1, it was down to the leading averages 2017 players, both Rob Wharne (Institute A) and Andy Prendergast (Perkins A) to give Stafford the push towards the match. Things didn't go to plan with a solid display from Telford's Craig Reynolds and some bad run for Rob Wharne gave Telford a 2-1 advantage. On the other table, the flying machine of Andy Prendergast was quickly putting pay to Telford's Zenon Lembicz, and again honours were even at 2-2. In frame 5 Chris Ward (Institute A) was quick out of the blocks in his frame against Steve Powell (Telford) and gave his opponent little chance to play his way in, with Chris using full home advantage, walking away a comfortable winner, 3-2 to Stafford. Onto frame 6, Darren Pountney (Perkins A) taking on Mick Reynolds (Telford) and after many safety exchanges, Darren managed to force home the advantage and with a good yellow to blue got Stafford over the line, 4-2. On comes super-sub Alan Mason (Perkins A), called in at the very last minute, took full advantage of his opportunities to dispatch Michael Mancini (Telford) and give the home team a 5-2 win on the night.
Next : Quarter final match on 16 Feb 2018 away to Wolverhampton A @ Pennfields Bowling Club.
