Hello all, and welcome to the 2018/19 Southport & District Snooker League, hope you are all itching to get back indoors away from the heat and sunshine and back on the only green bit left in the world, a snooker baize...!! Not long to go now until the new season unfolds before our eyes, in fact the new season will start on Wednesday the 12th of September for the 3rd division and the 13th for the 1st & 2nd divisions.

Just a quick heads up as to the set up of the leagues as there are more fixtures this year than the recent ones. The 1st division is made up of 10 teams who will all play each other three times in the season with a third round added to make the total matches played 27. The only difference to the 2nd division which is set up just the same is that they have 1 team less, so one Open Date fixture, so will play 24 matches in their title hunt this year.

The 3rd division is made up of 13 teams who will just play each other home & away like normal to produce a 24 match season played over 26 weeks as they have an Open Date in the division.

The Handicaps for the players are still in play, and will be reviewed in the coming weeks for the new season, so don't think that what you see on the web at the moment is your handicap, it may well change yet...!! I will be contacting all of the Captains soon to have them register their team players for the season and then the committee will assess the merits of each player once again.

That just leaves me to say good luck once again to all of the teams & players within the Southport Snooker League, and many thanks for all of your support to the snooker league and all the clubs involved in it.
