|Meeting 7 25th april at liberal.
Teams not present; Labour A, Fairholm A and Fairholm B
The knockout cup semi final between meadowfield and whitley snooker centre will be played on wednesday 2nd may at wallsend labour club. The winners will play buffs A in the final at King street on tuesday 15th May.
The doubles final between mchugh/horseburgh and kippen/roper will be held at wallsend engineers on tuesday 22nd may.
The singles semi final between John Craig and Cyle Pringle will be played on Thursday 10th may at meadowfield with the winner facing Colin Ellis in the final at the jubilee on tuesday 29th may.
The veterans semis have been drawn with bob mcdonald facing alex brown at forest hall and ian senior facing jim taylor at wallsend buffs dates to be confirmed for these in due course. The final will be held at Teams club on tuesday 5th june.
The presentation night was voted to be held at wallsend engineers on wednesday 25th july with entry fee of £1 per person.
The summer cup will have separate competitions for divisions 1 and 2 and the format will be as follows;
Best of 5 matches consisting of 4 singles frames drawn as normal along with a doubles decider if 2 each after the singles the team captain picks which plays to put in the doubles. This will be in a league format with 3 points for a 3-0 or 3-1 win, 2 points for a 3-2 win, 1 point for a 2-3 defeat and 0 points for a 1-3 or 0-3 defeat. Depending on numbers interested there will be 2 groups with every team playing eachother once with the top 2 from each playing semi final and final. Summer cup will finish before the presentation night. Can all teams confirm whether they would like to play or not by Wednesday 2nd may so I can sort fixtures out ready for the last meeting of the season.

Proposals for presentation night
Engineers: Will be on wednesday 25th july they will put music and food on cost £1 to get in which also gets you a raffle ticket for a bottle of whisky. Will also sell domino cards and do bingos during the night. The league will get a share of the money taken from the entrance fees.
Option 1; Will be on saturday 28th july they will host race night with music and curry and rice alongside raffles etc there will be £1 entry fee with league receiving £50.
Option 2; Will be on saturday 28th july with a comedian there will be £5 entry fee with league receiving £50 numbers would be required for this option.
Meeting 6: Whitley Bay Comrades 28th March

Knockout cup semi final draws have been made Gosforth A v Buffs A will be played on the date shown however as Meadowfield were allowed to play on a different date due to having players missing the actual date will go online as soon as its known. The final will be played at King Street on the 15th May.
The doubles semi finals have also been drawn with the winner of the delayed quarter final (evans/batey v siggney/ramsey) playing kippen/roper at whitley snooker centre, players must have arranged these semi finals between themselves before the 25th april. The final will be played on the 22nd May venue to be confirmed at the next meeting.
The singles semi finals have also been drawn players must have these arranged before the 25th April with the final to be played on the 29th May venue to be confirmed at the next meeting. All semi finals will be played with a dress code of trousers/dark jeans, collared shirt(polo or dress) and shoes/smart trainers.
Veterans quarter finals have been drawn the winner of the delayed last 16 match between M Firmager and D Walker will host J Taylor in the 4th quarter final. The home player has until the 11th april to make contact with there opponent or the away player may claim the home venue.
Regarding comments made in the 'Newcastle East End Banter Group' on facebook it was voted that whatever comments made on that group would not come under league rules.
Teams and Engineers have put themselves forward to host the presentation night, information will be put on here for teams to look at before the next meeting where a decision will be made as to where it will be held.

At tomorrow nights meeting at whitley bay comrades (28th march) we will be asking for proposals for the presentation night which we would like to hold during the last week of july or the first week of august. We will also be giving out venues for the semi finals of the knockout cup, doubles and singles you must be there to accept your club as a venue or it will be passed on to the next club on the list. Also as last months meeting was cancelled we will be collecting two lots of fees(£14) from each team and finally can everybody please remember to bring any match cards that have not been handed in so far this season.

Any problems occuring in contacting opponents or arranging matches players should inform the committee.
The proposals for presentation night should now be brought to the next meeting which will be held at Whitley Bay Comrades on the 28th of March at 7.30pm
Due to the snow forecast for tomorrow we have decided to cancel Meeting 5 which was to be held at Saltwell. To save any confusion over venues for meetings for this season Saltwell will now host the first meeting of next season. I will complete the draws for the competitions this evening along with Allan Adams and/or the fairholm b team. Any fees that were due to be paid at tomorrows meeting will be carried over to the next meeting at Whitley Bay Comrades on the 28th March.
Regarding tonights knock out cup matches if teams would like to start earlier than the scheduled 7.30 they should get in contact with their opposing captain to see if this is possible.

Any problems in making contact for any competitions the committee should be informed and will provide help in doing so.
We are aiming to hold the league presentation night around the last week of july/first week of august. Any clubs wishing to host this should bring a proposal to the next monthly meeting which is on February 28th saying the date you would like it and what you would put on, entrance fee and what the league would get from it. These proposals will go back to the teams to be voted on at the meeting on 28th March.

The league table has been updated showing the points deductions from team missing the monthly meetings, from division 1, Lab A(2), Jub A and Lib A and from division 2, Gos B, Lib B, Jub B and Saltwell. From now on the points deductions will be applied after every meeting. A £5 fine per missing team also applies for missing a paid monthly meeting which are numbers 1 to 8 on the fixture list.

The list of venues has been drawn for all semi final and final venues, the first club on the list that have not had a venue and do not have a participant in said competition will get the tie in question. As Wallsend Social always host the Peter Heron final they start at the bottom of the list. Peter Heron quarter final has been drawn and due to my mistake in the scheduling the semi finals have also been drawn. The winner of teams v gosforth A will play the winners of tynemouth v fairholm b at wallsend buffs on tuesday 19th december. The winners of liberal B v gosforth b will play the winners of Whitley Bay SC v Saltwell at westholme on tuesday 19th December.The final will be at Wallsend Social on tuesday 2nd January. Due to parking concerns Gosforth and Forest Hall have removed themselves from list of monthly meetings, Whitley Bay SC have already removed themselves due to a lack of space to hold a meeting. The only change this makes is the meeting scheduled for Wednesday 20th December at Gosforth will now be held at Wallsend Social.
Due to an incident that occurred during the tynemouth v labour b game in the peter heron cup on the 31st october Daniel Patterson has been issued with a caution as to his future behavior another instance of this between now and the end of the season will invoke a 4 week ban from the league.
Maurice Bowman has provided Allan Adams with a more comprehensive and acceptable layout for the balance sheet.
We have missing match cards in division 2 from 10/10 Social B v Fairholm B(no player results received), 14/11 Teams v Fairholm B and 14/11 Saltwell v Social B(no player results received). Meeting 1: Wednesday 25th October at Westholme

The Peter Heron Memorial Trophy 1st round has been drawn and is on the relevant page with ties played on Tuesday October 31st. The abandoned match from the preliminary round between Jubilee B and Westholme will be completed from the start of the 5th frame between Kenny Wilson and Gordon Reay with Kenny having a 21 point start. This match will be held at wallsend buffs as soon as possible. The winners of this tie will travel to fairholm B in the 1st round.
The singles preliminary round has been drawn and is on the relevant page, there was 95 entries giving 31 ties and 33 byes. The deadline for this round is Tuesday 21st November, the home player has upto and including Wednesday 8th November to contact their opponent otherwise the away player may claim the home venue they must contact the league committee to do this. Any difficulties in making contact/arranging matches players should inform the league committee.
A more detailed balance sheet has been requested and will be produced for the next meeting.
It was put that league meetings should be held at a place where there is adequate parking available and that we should be in a quiet room when possible. Due to parking issues Gosforth offered to take themselves out of the list of meetings, this point will be revisited at the next meeting and taken further from there.
Teams were reminded that results should be sent to John Craig on the night of the match or before noon on the day following the match [Rule 7 a)].
Teams also reminded that match cards should be brought to the monthly meetings immediately following said match or the home team will be liable for a £3 fine per missing card [Rule 7 e)]. New Rule: A doubles team may now be made up of players from different clubs, if this happens the team in question must nominate the home venue before the opening draw is made, both players must also be members of the nominated club.
Registration forms: We are still waiting for the registration forms from Labour A, Liberal A and Liberal B. We are also waiting for the list of players to be registered from Gosforth A and Gosforth B. We must have at least the list of signed players before the league begins otherwise any player who plays will be deemed as unregistered and forfeit their frame (147 points in Peter Heron Cup).
Hylton Wark(King Street) has donated a trophy to go to the winners of the Division 2 only competition which will be run at the end of the season.

Terry Douglas(Chairman), Allan Adams(Treasurer) and John Craig(Secretary) were re-elected to their posts for the forthcoming season, Sean Drew(Website Administrator) has handed over control of the website to the league secretary, so all results for any competitions should now be sent to John Craig. Sean will still continue to be part of the league committee as a nominated member, Billy Armstrong jnr has also been put forward as a nominated member of the committee.

Moving Teams: Wallsend Comrades are moving to become Engineers B.
League Structure: The league has 24 teams which will be split into 2 divisions of 12 teams playing eachother once at home and once away.
Division 1 will consist of; Gosforth A, Buffs A, Meadowfield, King St, Tynemouth, Labour A, Fairholm A, Jubilee A, Labour B, Whitley Bay Snooker Centre, Liberal A and Whitley Bay Comrades.
Division 2 will consist of; Teams, Buffs B, Forest Hall, Saltwell, Fairholm B, Social B, Westholme, Engineers A, Jubilee B, Liberal B, Gosforth B, Engineers B
The league will commence on the 3rd October with the preliminary round of the Peter Heron Memorial Trophy which will be drawn at the next meeting. The league proper will start on the 10th October.
New Rules: 1. If a player commits threatening behavior towards an opponent he shall be given a warning as to his future conduct, if said player commits threatening behavior again he shall be banned from the league.
2. If a player commits violent conduct towards another player he will be banned from the league immediately.
Amended Rules: 1. The dress code for finals has been expanded to include all semi finals, however the dress code has been changed to, trousers/dark jeans, collared shirt(polo/dress) and shoes or smart trainers. No vests, shorts or flip flops.
2. When a Newcastle United game is scheduled for a tuesday night, a league game may be changed to the wednesday night with the agreement of the two teams in question, however if there is no agreement the game should still be played on the tuesday according to the fixtures.
Registration sheets should be brought to the registration meeting along with any applicable payments.
Points for the next meeting: 1. Would there be any interest in a separate competition to start when the regular season ends that would be specific to each division.
2. Would there be any interest in a billiards knockout competition run by the league
